06 summer - zach, heather
conservation of energy including friction
As of the summer of 2006 both of us had taught the lesson and collected some student work and video. We spent the meeting scanning through our poor quality videos and student work. We really did not know how to analyze the video very effectively in terms of student learning, but mostly noted which aspects of each other's teaching we liked and wanted to emulate. We did make some changes in our lesson as a result of this analysis and then presented our results to the rest of our cohort. One of the challenges here was that our videos were extremely different because we had both taught versions of the lesson the strayed from our original plan. We really hadn't scripted our lesson carefully enough and in leaving it up to so much interpretation had ended up with significantly different products.
