One of the few things we got from this meeting was developing effective questioning strategies. We had a lot of closed questions that gave us answers, but didn’t honestly tell us if students understood the material or could just tell us what we wanted to hear. Looking at this made us re-evaluate our questioning strategies and make our lesson more concrete. Again, Katie would be teaching the lesson within a few weeks, but Holly was still in her program and it’s all an idea in her head. We also rewrote our homework assignment for our lesson study based on the new ideas about assessment.
